A Brief History of Mayfield Medical Centre

A history and overview of Mayfield Medical Centre, including its founding, growth, locations, healthcare team, training role, and commitment to delivering patient-focused care.

Mayfield Medical Centre has been a family medical practice since the beginning of the National Health Service (NHS).

It was originally founded by Dr Agnes Kennie, who ran a small surgery on Cleveland Road in Paignton, South Devon.

Later, Dr May Blythe joined the practice and continued its care after Dr Kennie retired. At that time, the practice had moved to Midvale Road, Paignton.

In 1988, the practice was renamed Mayfield Medical Centre when it moved to its current home at 37 Totnes Road, Paignton.
