How We Contact You Digitally
We use secure digital systems to contact patients about their healthcare and services provided by the practice.
This helps us share information quickly and makes it easier for patients to respond to us without needing to telephone or visit the practice.
What might we contact you about?
We may contact you to:
- Invite you to book an appointment.
- Send appointment reminders or updates.
- Send health questionnaires or forms.
- Ask for information to help us provide your care.
- Share health information or advice.
- Invite eligible patients for clinics, reviews, vaccinations or other services.
- Request photographs or documents where needed for your care.
How will I receive messages?
Messages may be sent:
- Through the NHS App.
- By text message (SMS).
- By email.
If you have the NHS App installed and notifications switched on, messages may be delivered there first.
If you do not use the NHS App, messages will be sent by text message. In some circumstances, a text message may also be sent if a message delivered to the NHS App is not viewed.
Some messages may contain a secure link allowing you to book an appointment, complete a questionnaire or provide information to the practice.
Is my information secure?
We use approved systems designed for use within the NHS. Information is only accessible to authorised staff who need it to provide your care or support practice services.
Can I choose not to receive digital messages?
Yes.
If you do not wish to receive messages by text message, email or through the NHS App, please contact the practice and let us know.
We will discuss alternative ways of contacting you where appropriate.
Please be aware that choosing not to receive digital communications may mean we need to contact you by telephone or letter instead.
About the service
The practice uses Accurx, an NHS-approved communication platform, to deliver many of our digital communications, including messages sent by text message, email and through the NHS App.
